What is Libelo?

Libelo is a nature companion app for iOS and Android. It combines an interactive map of Europe’s national parks and natural highlights, trusted ecological knowledge, and a calm community of explorers. You tell Libelo how you feel; it turns your mood into the right nature adventure and shows you what is worth noticing when you get there.

Is Libelo free?

Libelo is free to download, and the map, the community and adding your own discoveries are free to use. Optional premium features for subscribers will come later.

Who is Libelo for?

Everyone who is outside, or wants to be more: hikers and campers, surfers and paddlers, birdwatchers and forest wanderers, families with curious kids, and anyone seeking a quieter, more present way to be in nature. There is no single right way to explore, and Libelo does not pick one for you.

Which countries does Libelo cover?

Libelo is open to all of Europe. Our launch markets are Poland, Belgium and the Netherlands, where park and highlight coverage runs deepest, and the map extends across the continent wherever explorers take it. We are building toward every national park and nature space in Europe, in partnership with the parks and conservation organisations that know them best.

What is a natural highlight?

A natural highlight is a specific place in nature worth pausing for: a waterfall, an ancient tree, a viewpoint, a cave, a beach. Highlights are added by explorers and verified, so every pin marks a real discovery, not an advertisement.

What is a trace?

A trace is your personal record of a moment in nature: where you went, what you noticed, how it felt. Traces build a quiet nature journal of your time outside, and you choose what to share.

How is Libelo different from other outdoor apps?

Most outdoor apps move you from point A to point B. Libelo is highlight-based and activity-agnostic: it shows you what is worth noticing, and you choose how to explore it, on foot, by bike, by kayak, or sitting still. It is rooted in scientific knowledge and conservation values, and there are no likes, no follower counts, and no algorithm chasing your attention.

Can I plan a trip with Libelo?

Yes, and it will keep getting better. Every park page gathers key notes, regulations and highlights, and soon we will add seasonal advice and notes on terrain, flora, fauna and fungi, all in one place, so that planning takes minutes instead of hours. Dynamic itineraries that adapt to how you feel are coming soon.

How do I add a place to the map?

Open the app, tap Add Highlight or long press a point on the map, and tell us what you found and why it moved you. Our editors and community verify new highlights so the map stays honest.
