Búbal Reservoir

The remains of old stone bridges and other structures can be seen when the water level of the Embalse de Búbal drops significantly. These structures belonged to former roads and settlements in the valley before the reservoir was created in the 1970s. When the dam was built, parts of the landscape were flooded, leaving these historic structures submerged beneath the reservoir. During periods of very low water levels, they re-emerge, offering a remarkable glimpse into the valley’s past.

The dramatic mountain backdrop is Peña Telera (2,764 m), one of the most distinctive peaks of the surrounding Pyrenees.
